As we look towards the end of 2020 and the start of the holiday season, I’m both relieved to say goodbye to this year and motivated to continue the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts we’ve implemented across our team, brand channels, and community.
In October, we introduced five new Black artists and launched our second collaborative collection supporting social justice. Like our first Black artist collaboration, which has raised over $50K since its launch in August, 100% of the profit from this collection also supports the artists and the social justice charities of their choice. These partnerships continue to be a priority for us as we spotlight more diverse talent and amplify their voices.
If you haven’t had a chance to explore the collection and learn more about the artists, I encourage you to do so here. You can also explore all collections supporting Black artists and social justice here. And in 2021, look out for a lot more products featuring these beautiful, powerful designs and additional collections representing expanded diversity.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, we launched our first Spanish LifePlanner™, with a spotlight on our Art Director of Product Aby Cortes. You can see the new Spanish LifePlanner™️ here and read what Aby has to say about the importance of diverse representation in product design here.
While 2020 has been far from an ideal year, I’m proud of the work our team has put in and what’s already on the horizon for 2021. Our D&I Community Outreach Team has spearheaded over $250K in product and monetary donations to schools and communities impacted by social injustice this year. And we’re already planning our 2021 outreach initiatives, which I can’t wait to share with you in our upcoming updates.
Until then, I wish you a happy and healthy end to the 2020 year, and hope that amid the holiday hustle, you’re able to find time for self-care and enjoy quality time with those closest to you.
